The Ballad of a Wordsmith & Troubadour

First of all, thank you so much for your interest in my work! Second of all, I am well aware that this website and particularly this About page might be a bit over the top. I definitely have a dozen years of writing and marketing experience, but I technically took a brief dozen-year hiatus.

Now seeking a return to work more in that vein, I felt obligated to prove that I can indeed still write and put a decent website together. I also wanted to explain myself, so you might better understand why I strayed from a career path to venture down a road less traveled.

My professional life is divided into two distinct periods of equal duration: the 12 years spanning from 2002 to 2014, which I call "The Deadline," and the 12 years from 2014 to the present, which I've dubbed "The Time Clock."

In many ways, these two eras were polar opposites in terms of work, location and objective. Both had their unique pros and cons, and both served their purpose for the goals set in their time.

This page recounts these two opening chapters, then lays out my intentions for the next chapter now underway: “The Present.” This third chapter draws parallels and lessons from the previous two, but the situation and mindset it’s being built upon are completely novel.
